THANK YOU NORTH HAVEN!! Team Freda Rolls to Victory; Mike Freda Sweeps All Five Districts
Election Day 2009 saw Team Freda roll to a decisive victory. Mike Freda led the way, defeating Janet McCarty by a 60-40 margin (4,873 to 3,232). Tim Doheny defeated Steve Fontana (4,404 to 3,591), Stacey Yarbrough defeated Brian Cummings for Town Clerk/Tax Collector (4,499 to 3,258) and Laurie-Jean Hannon defeated Bill Gambardella (4,274 to 3,528) for the Town Treasurer position. Likewise, the Republican candidates dominated the underticket, with all three candidates winning positions on the Board of Finance, all four candidates for the Board of Education handily defeating their opponents and the Republican candidates for the Board of Assessment Appeals, Zoning Board of Appeals, Police Commission and Fire Commission steamrolling their opponents.
After the results came in, Mike Freda expressed his gratitude for all who supported his campaign efforts and reiterated his commitment to and passion for his new position as First Selectman.
